I was honored to join the panel discussion following Technical Sketch Session 2 at the PRICE Workshop (Performance, Rendering & Interaction in Competitive Esports), part of the SIGGRAPH 2026 Technical Workshops at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
The panel picked up where my talk on AI Level of Detail left off, widening the conversation from distance-aware precision selection for human motion prediction to the broader question of where inference budget belongs in a shipping game.
Our discussion explored quantization as a perceptual trade-off rather than a purely numerical one, the cost of running learned models per-NPC at frame rate, and how competitive esports titles weigh latency against fidelity. It was a privilege to exchange insights with researchers and engineers approaching the same problem from rendering, networking, and gameplay angles.
Being part of SIGGRAPH — the world’s premier computer graphics conference — was a standout moment in my work bridging machine learning research and real-time game engines.
