🏆 Second Prize — Techathon, NIT Calicut (2019)

Techathon was a hardware hackathon held at NIT Calicut in December 2019. Our team — comprising myself, Aravind (ECE, FISAT) and Ashwin (CS, MA College of Engineering) — competed through the night and secured second place.
We built a mesh-based Internet of Things system designed for smart agriculture. Each node in the network captures environmental data such as temperature and humidity from crop fields and relays it across the mesh to the internet.
One of the key features of the system is its scalability: adding a new node requires only bringing it into proximity of an existing node and assigning it an address. No complex configuration or wiring is needed, making deployment in large agricultural fields straightforward and practical.
