Rattleplates

Virus render

Rattleplates is a fun, lighthearted Flutter game built at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Inspired by the idea of making noise to drive away bad things, the game challenges the player to tap a rattling plate and scare coronavirus particles off the screen.

The game presents a 5×5 grid of coronavirus icons. Each tap on the plate produces a metallic clang sound and removes a row of viruses. Encouraging messages appear as the count drops, and when all 25 are cleared, the app congratulates the player with “You scared the Corona… They fled!”

The app was built using Flutter and Dart, with the audioplayers package handling sound effects and rflutter_alert for the victory dialog.
