HACK 2.0

We presented Macehub at HACK 2.0, a hackathon held in 2019. Macehub is a platform for scheduling and managing co-curricular activities across student organizations at MACE.

College students juggling multiple clubs often struggle to track their commitments. At a college like MACE — which hosts a wide range of student-run and faculty-run clubs — scheduling conflicts are common and difficult to manage manually. No dedicated software existed to solve this problem.

Macehub gives each club a WordPress website hosted as a subdomain of Macehub, with full control over their installation and an isolated FTP account. Organizations can replace the WordPress site with a custom solution if needed. A mobile app and a dedicated WordPress plugin handle communication between users and club data.

Admins and users have separate privileged logins. Admins can schedule meetings, create events, and push announcements to members via the app or the WordPress site. Users can enroll in clubs, raise queries with admins and volunteers, and receive notifications for their clubs.

A calendar view in the app displays upcoming meetings and events, helping team leads schedule without conflicts. Event history is preserved for documentation, and a shared notice board shows college-wide announcements.
