While I was working at Activision, I helped the Caldera dataset release team in obtaining granular breadcrumbs data related to player movements, player kills, and round level information based on the telemetry collected in the Activision’s distributed data lake.
PhD researchers at Clemson University wrote a research paper based on it and presented at ACM SIGGRAPH MIG 2025-A Premier Conference on Advancements in Graphics and animation technologies.

Here is my LinkedIn post about it

“I’m so glad to see the data I helped to pull from Activision‘s massive distributed databases and cleaned for the Caldera dataset was explored by researchers at Clemson University and published a paper on it at ACM SIGGRAPH MIG 2025!. It even won the best presentation award, Congrats!! The dataset release was a impactful undertaking at Activision in 2024. Big thanks to everyone who contributed to it, and to the ones who used and will use it to further research in gaming. Ps. I distinctly remember being so excited at this release that I booked a same day flight to Colorado for ACM SIGGRAPH 2025 and sitting in the second row in the front (it was a coincidence) when Mark Zuckerberg and Jensen Huang was talking on stage. It was a surreal experience. Pic Credits : Researchers of the paper in comments”
